Day Three - Round Two
(Or 'The Return Of The Bloat')
Ok, THIS was a long day... The first two days they reduced me one bag of hydration, which seemed to help the swelling in my legs, etc. BUT TODAY, the Doctor decided to re-introduce it into my treatment - better for flushing the kidneys, etc. So we're back being a bit bloated... oh well, only two days left this week, I can handle it.
On a more positive (It's all positive, some just easier to handle than others GRIN) note, Doctor Goodman noted that my other tumor markers came back positive (he was very pleased with the result) and that we were 95% to 'half life', meaning by end of the next treatment round (or so) they should be to ZERO (which is where we want them!) So VERY good news on that front.
We met with the Center's Nutritionist, Amy, today as well - nice lady and hung out to discuss some of the better things to eat during chemotherapy, and some to avoid as well. We also discussed the diabetes a little, etc. Very helpful.
So today, instead of just my legs bothering me, the arm (left) where the IV is hooked up bothered me a little two.. mostly just in the hand area, but as we got home (we didn't get OUT of the Institute until ALMOST 2:30pm!) all of the swelling was a bit annoying (to flashback to the first round, I didn't really start swelling until late Wednesday, mid-Thursday, so doing it a LITTLE earlier this round, it would appear). But I rested with my legs and arm elevated and that seemed to help...
They did something unusual at the center yesterday - they had a 'Guest Chef' in the restaurant who makes up a higher-end buffet-style lunch offering, one which Trish and I did not participate in... but a cool idea none-the-less... they do it once a month to mix things up a little.
What else in my world of news? On another good note, those of you who know about the show I helped create on HBO/Cinemax 'Sin City Diaries'... it appears we've been picked up for another season, and we should have a Premiere date in the next week or so, so then we can work backwards from that and start production again - we really have some strong advocates at the networks, so that makes it more exciting, plus it sounds promising that we might get a run at HBO After Hours this time too - larger audience and more 'exposure' (Hey, if you've seen the show, you already know what I mean GRIN)
I think that's about it for today - should have Day Four's update up earlier... was a tiring, long afternoon - plus the earlier outages didn't help me getting the post up any faster - sorry to all you East-Coasters who monitor for new posts!
As always thanks for the love and positive thoughts... PS - My Mom came in late tonight (her flight was delayed a few hours... but she got her around 12:30 or so... haven't seen her yet, but looking forward to having her with us for a few days...)
Pittle - OUT!
